13/03/2010 To 14/03/2010 Kukup Ride!

We are organizing a 2 days trip to kukup on the 13/03/2010(Sat) to 14/03/2010(Sun). The Distance from Singapore to Kukup is 120 km single trip. Further details on the lodging, price and route will be update shortly when i got conformation from kukup side. This Sat (13/03/2010) please meet at Marsiling MRT station @ 5am. We will than move off at 515am and proceed to JB for breakfast and money changing.

Ride Captain for the trip is Uncle Leong, he will do a short briefing on Sat morn itself before the ride commence. All riders are to follow instruction given by the ride captain to avoid any unnecessary delay/ mis-communication that might arise during the trip.

Meet 5am at Marsiling MRT and was good to see all familiar faces with a big smile on all of them. At 520am, all kakis arrival and uncle leong give us a short and quick briefing.

The first ride to kukup and what a great one it was. We were joined by Albert & David Fat (uncle leong kakis). welcome aboard. it was good to have you guys along and hopefully we didn’t scare you off.

We than headed out towards the causeway, clear both check points and ride 20km before taking our breakfast at about 7am.



All of us had roti prata and coffee/ tea to start off our day. The prata was crispy and nice.

After the breakfast, we dash down the the road and headed towards Pekan Nanas for the famous fishball noodled


before turning to Pekan Nanas Bike shop.

At 930am, on arriving to the bikeshop, business is yet to open for us so we hang around while yang and david having their "Tiger time".




It was like stepping back in time, sitting around, chatting and looking out to the street and seems like everyone enjoy the wait for the bikeshop to open. And finally, at about 1015am the shop is open and keith got his headset bearing change, albert got his cassette and chain replaced, eunice got her bike tune up, yang got his chain replaced to dura-ace chain and the rest of us shop for accessories. And guess what they have now??



We stay at the shop for 2hr (everyone is happy) and at about 1215pm, we continued our way to our destination.

We were going at a constant speed of 25km/h (on average) till Pontian Kecil, weather was good and windy.


all started off slowly as we had a heavy lunch. Started feeling bored at the back, they were going like 20km/h, nearly rammed into the cyclist in front. Gave up following patiently, started overtaking till I caught up with kieth, yang, uncle leong and David. At least, they are going at a constant of 25km/h and above.

Then, keith & uncle leong decided to break the rhythm. They started to increase the speed. Head wind was quite strong, I had a hard time keeping up, the distance grew further and further. Arghhh!!

And finally...........

We reached Kukup about 2:20pm and take some photos than proceed to a dessert stall and had yummy yummy ice mango.



We than checked in to the chalet, take our shower and unpack....



And than had our lunch at the seafood restaurant. The foods was good, consist of crabs, prawns, fish, cuttlefish, veg, etc etc....all together 9 dishes. We enjoyed so much and uncle leong treated us with bananas and jackfruits after the meal.....we than went jalan jalan around kukup, sigh-seeing and shopping till dinner time at about 8pm.

At 8pm, auntie siew ling prepared a hearty bbq dinner for us...again, we had sambal stingray, sambal sotong, sotong balls, curry fishead, otak, chicken wings, satays etc etc....And we been eating and eating and eating the whole day....lol.



During the dinner time, Travel & Tourism Board of Kukup decided to welcomed Woodlandz Cyclique in the most jaw dropping way:

They displayed fireworks for us!!!





Kidding la.......it was just part of kukup activities during the weekend.
After dinner, most of us just laze around chit chatting, watching TV till 2330hr and lights off for the night.

14/03/2010 Day Two......

To cut stories short.....we woke up 630am, wash up, pack up, had our nice breakfast prepared to us by auntie siew ling and we bid farewell to her after that. Start out way home at about 830am from kukup. Along the way, as usual...we eat, ride, eat, ride and still eat and ride till we reach home at about 2pm.

We truly enjoyed our trip and most of us agreed that this is by far the most relax, enjoy, fun (with albert around) malaysia trip that we had rode before.....we even plan to have another kukup ride somewhere between jun - aug 2010. Till than, enjoy the pics/video below:

Another memorable trip!

What make a trip fun? It is because of the rider inside the group! (of course including myself! haha!) It doesn't matter how FAR you are going, how FAST you are riding or how MUCH you are spending, but most important is the friendship that bond us together. We take care of each other, love each other(not apply to everybody, yet there are 3 pair of couple wearing the same jersey! Yuck!), sharing food together, sleeping together, joke together.. I'm thankful that I got to know you guys and I looking forward for another seafood + overnight trip! Friends Forever!

Hahaha...yup, the 3pairs....urself & eunice(lover), albert & david fat(brokeback.. ) yang & david jr(drinking kaki).
Think this trip is enjoyable cos we eat & eat, ride relax, albert the funny man around plus all the surprises we got from kukup..eg..fireworks, wishes lamp, mango ice, aunti siew ling, riders that we rode together, serene surrounding, live by the sand, sea.. etc etc that make up to this memorable trip.
