cameron highlands: 25 dec - 27 dec 2009

good day guys and gals.

seriously thinking about cycling from ipoh to cameron highlands with proper support vehicle (mini bus).





Cameron Highlands is a highland region located about 121 km east of Ipoh and about 214 km north of Kuala Lumpur, in Pahang, Malaysia. At 5,000 ft (1,500 m) above sea level it is the highest area on the mainland, enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 25 °C and rarely falls below 12°C year-round. Cameron Highlands is actually a district in the state of Pahang Darul Makmur although the road entrance is via Tapah and Simpang Pulai in the state of Perak Darul Ridzuan. Cameron Highlands district is bordered by Lipis district on the south-east, Kelantan on the north and Perak on the west. The size of the whole Cameron Highlands district is roughly two and a quarter times the size of Singapore.

1. Head southwest on Jalan Raja Musa Aziz toward Jalan Dato' Yeoh Cheng Lee 0.4 km
2. Turn left at Jalan Sultan Idris Shah 1.0 km
3. At Bulatan Sultan Ismail, take the 2nd exit onto Jalan Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah 8.8 km
4. Turn left at A181 47.0 km
5. Continue on C181 8.9 km
6. Turn right at C7 19.6 km
7. Continue on Route 59 3.6 km
8. Turn right at Jalan Tengkolok 0.4 km

3days is quite tedious..some of our riders might not be able to get so many off days..

if 2 days should be fine...can we take bus to somewhere nearer, and enjoy the cameron highland..den take bus back..will be much more enjoyable.


another issue will the the estimated overall costing..

Christmas I cannot lehhh...... I doing part-time job be Santa Claus at Orchard Rd mahhh...... I wear RAD & loud...... u know u know BOOMZ...!!!!

Ya...Christmas must spend with Family ley...

maybe we must look into the date again

U all go ahead...... I X'mas eve also do part-time be Santa Claus at Orchard Rd.

cameron has to be a 3 days 2 nights affair else it will be too hectic.

i'll be going up cameron to recce - 30/31 oct.

most likely, saturday early morning departing from woodlands and hope can reach cameron by lunch
sun drive back to singapore

Welcome, you are def welcome to join us not only on the cameron trip but all the trips that we are doing. Look out for the different rides on the forum and do join us as and when u feel comfortable with. Hope to cya soon.

guys, i am planning to cycle up cameron early dec, 4 - 6

going to take 1 week leave to warm up for the ride.

3rd - travel up to ipoh, 1 nite stay
4th - early morning cycle up to cameron
5th - cycle down back to ipoh
6th - back to spore

lets hope no emergency.
